Questions About Do Dham Yatra Kedar and Badri From Delhi

Is the Kedarnath trek difficult during the Yatra?

Yes, the Kedarnath trek is about 16–18 km and can be challenging, especially for seniors or those not used to trekking. However, options like ponies, palkis, and helicopter services make the journey easier and more comfortable. Wearing proper shoes, staying hydrated, and taking breaks makes the trek more manageable.

Is this Do Dham Yatra suitable for senior citizens or families with children?

The Yatra is suitable for families and senior citizens with proper planning. The long drive from Delhi is comfortable, but the Kedarnath trek can be tough for elderly travelers. Using helicopter services, ponies, or palkis can reduce physical strain. Families should also carry essential medicines and travel at a relaxed pace.

What should I pack for the Do Dham Yatra from Delhi?

Pilgrims should pack warm clothes, woollen caps, gloves, trekking shoes, rain jackets, and essential medicines. A torch, power bank, snacks, a reusable water bottle, and a small first-aid kit are also important. Since Himalayan weather changes rapidly, layered and waterproof clothing is highly recommended.

When is the best time to start the Kedarnath–Badrinath Yatra from Delhi?

The ideal time to begin the Yatra is May to June and September to October, when weather conditions are pleasant and travel routes are safer. Monsoon months (July–August) bring heavy rainfall and landslides, which can delay travel. October is cooler but perfect for those who prefer fewer crowds.
